A look back through Umoja Images

THIS WEBSITE IS OBSOLETE AND MOST OF THE NAMES AND FACES YOU SEE HERE HAVE MOVED ON.  BUT IT IS ALSO A PHOTO GALLERY OF AN EXCITING TIME, AND WE LEAVE IT AS SUCH.  If you need any info about West L.A. College visit www.wlac.edu

In this session, we will explain everything to you and introduce the Umoja Village so you will begin to know who is who.  You will then go to your respective classrooms and continue your class time. All afternoon classes will meet as scheduled.

Tell your classmates or come prepared to meet some interesting new colleagues.

Topics we will over:

  • Why Umoja Exists: an Africentric Curriculum
  • Educational Goals
  • Introduction of teaching staff and administrators
  • Tutors
  • Financial Aid
  • Expectations
  • Last semester review

Keeping in touch electronically: Whenever Umoja has an announcement we will email and sometimes call you but many of you do not check regularly.  We use this blog so that you will have a place online to return to that will update you on Umoja activities.

We welcome you wholeheartedly.  Our goal is to get you so excited about learning that soon you will be sitting on that field under a square hat with a tassel hanging to one side.  It will happen!  Let’s work on your dreams together!

Umoja Office Number: (310) 287-4462.
